Leicester - UK university open competition held every November. In 2006 the reception was warm, with separate acro and footwork sections (20 footwork couples, 12 acro couples).
Nottingham - we will go here for the first time in November '06.
Manchester - UK university open competition held every Winter and Spring. The turnout for Rock 'n' Roll couples is usually high and the competition is fun. Recommended. In 2006 separate acro and footwork sections were introduced.
Sheffield - UK university open competition held every February. The turnout for Rock 'n' Roll couples is usually average. In 2006 separate acro and footwork sections were introduced.
Cuppers - Cambridge University inter-college competition held every February. Beginners' and advanced (team or ex-team ususally) sections.
SUDC - The Southern Universities Dance Competition is one of two 'regional' competitions held in February (the other being NUDC). The turnout for Rock 'n' Roll couples is usually very low.
IVDC - The Inter-Varsity Dance Competition is seen as the nationals since this is the competition in which the most UK universities participate. The turnout for Rock 'n' Roll couples is high (45 couples in 2006) and the competition is intense. In 2007 there may be separate acro and footwork sections.
Varsity - This is the annual Oxford versus Cambridge competition held every May. Sadly, Oxford rarely enters Rock 'n' Roll couples and as a result the competition is usually a bit of an anti-climax.
